October 11, 2011 - October 10, 2011 – Announcing two new meets: First Annual Thanksgiving Classic (SCM) will be held at The College of New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20, 2011. Online entry information is available and event registration is open now and closes on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. ET. A paper entry form is also available. In addition, the Hoboken Masters December Swim Meet (SCY) will debut on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Stevens Institute of Technology. Online registration for this event is open now and will close on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. ET. A paper entry form is also available. |
October 4, 2011 - Announcing the FREE--2011/2012 NJ LMSC Masters Swimming Sponsored Clinics/Practices--The first one will be on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and the second one will be on Sunday, February 19, 2012 The 1st in a series of (2) NJ LMSC Board of Volunteers sponsored clinic/practice sessions which will be offered to any 2011 registered NJ Masters Swimmer at no cost (yes...FREE!!), but limited to the first (30) swimmers who register is scheduled for Sunday evening, November 20, 2011, from 6pm - 8pm at the Cranford Pool & Fitness Center (Centennial Avenue Pool) in Cranford, NJ. The one-hour clinic session will be focusing on the swimming technique of the long axis strokes ~~ freestyle and backstroke ~~ with the remaining one-hour allocated towards a practice. If you are interested in attending the clinic/practice, please register by emailing your name, your 2011 USMS number, and your contact information to Bill Reichle at BRSWIM@comcast.net by November 13th, 2011. October 4, 2011 - The Sussex County YMCA "Adult Mini Meet" SCY Swim Meet was held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Sussex County YMCA in Hardyston, NJ. Congratulations to all swimmers and especially to those swimmers who participated in a meet for the very first time! Way to go! Please click here for complete results.  October 4, 2011 - The NJ LMSC continues its solid performance with the 5th highest swimmer participation and the 7th highest posted miles in the 2011 USMS "Go the Distance" program! The Colonies Zone continues its dominance by holding on to the #1 spot among the 8 zones with over 100,000 miles and 657 participants. New Jersey, with 119 registered swimmers has logged almost 18,000 miles! Anyone can sign up, swim and log thier miles. To participate, simply submit your total yardage in your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS). For more details about this fitness event, go to GO THE DISTANCE on the USMS website. Congratulations to ALL of the participants who continue to make this program such a huge success within our LMSC!! Every member counts!! October 2, 2011 - 2011 NJ vs NY Duel in the Pool Announcement On Sunday, November 6, 2011 afternoon (noon - 7:00pm) at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Pool at Rutgers University, New Jersey Masters Swimming in collaboration with Blue Streak Aquatic, the parents' organization of Berkeley Aquatic Club, will be hosting the 2011 NJ vs NY Duel in the Pool!! Online event information is available to read now! Online entries will open on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 9:00am EST. The event organizers PREFER that you use online event registration for speed and accuracy. Paper entry form is posted on njmasters.org There will be a different point scoring system this year.....every placing participant has the ability to score points! Alright NJ LMSC......Let's get ready to S-W-I-M!!!! and take home the Duel in the Pool Winner's Cup from the Metro LMSC!! |

November 29, 2011 - NJ LMSC Annual Board Meeting and 2012 NJ LMSC Officer Elections. All NJ LMSC Masters Swimming members are invited and encouraged to attend the upcoming NJ LMSC Annual Board meeting, which includes the 2012 Officer elections, scheduled for Sunday, December 4th at 10:15am at the Perth Amboy Raritan Bay YMCA. There will be a coached workout preceding the meeting from 8:30am - 10:00am with a drop in cost of $5.00 per NJ LMSC swimmer. Please bring along your current 2011 or 2012 USMS card. As we continue to grow our NJ LMSC volunteer group, please consider getting involved and sharing your passion for your sport. Nominations are currently being accepted for the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Sanctions & Safety Chair, Top Ten/Records Chair, and Newsletter Editor. December 5, 2011 - The NJ LMSC nears the end of 2011 with an extremely strong performance in the USMS "Go the Distance" program. New Jersey still maintains the 5th highest swimmer participation and the 7th highest total posted miles out of 52 LMSCs! The Colonies Zone continues its dominance by holding on to the #1 spot among the 8 zones with 127,500 miles and 680 participants. New Jersey, with 121 registered swimmers has logged over 22,000 miles and is very proud to have 3 swimmers (Sandy Carosi, Dave Juchniewicz, and Meaghan Murphy) in the top 100 (out of 2,750 total participants)! Anyone can sign up, swim and log thier miles. To participate, simply submit your total yardage in your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS). December 2, 2011 - Congratulations to Janet Moeller (77) for setting 3 new NJ LMSC LCM records at the 11th Annual Wilton Wahoo Summer Sizzler at the Wilton Family (CT) YMCA on July 10, 2011. Janet established new NJ standards in the 50 fly (1:01.62), 100 fly (2:26.01) and 200 fly (6:00.29). |
