officials ~~ The USMS Rules Committee has issued an update
on the interpretation of the initiation of the first arm
pull in breaststroke. Please

| March 15, 2012 - NJ Masters Swimming is proud to
congratulate the
2011 New Jersey Masters Swimming Continuous Membership Award
Recipients for their respective levels of commitment to
United States Masters Swimming. All 2011 award recipients
will be honored and presented awards at the 2012 Annual New
Jersey Masters Swimming Awards Banquet and Social to be held
in the evening of Saturday, May 12, 2012. The awards are
each customized with the commensurate years of continuous NJ
LMSC membership and can be
viewed on the NJ Masters website. Please note that it
will not be possible to mail these awards. If you are unable
to attend the awards banquet, then we hope to see you at
another future NJ LMSC event so that you can pick up your
award. We are also honoured to announce that the guest
speaker this year will be one of our own long-term NJ
Masters Swimming members who is still a very active pool and
open water swimmer, Paul Kiell. Additionally, there will be
a NJ LMSC sponsored pre-banquet workout offered from 4:00pm
- 5:30pm at the beautiful
Raritan Bay YMCA in Perth Amboy. The banquet will be
held from 6:00pm - 10:00pm at
Ed and Mary's Hall
in Perth Amboy, NJ just a few blocks away from the pool. To
conclude the evening, we will again be having door prizes!!
Any award recipients of the recently established
Lou Abel Distinguished Service Award will also be
honoured during the banquet. Any Continuous Membership award
recipient is also eligible to purchase an award of an
achievement level that has already been surpassed and can do
so at the banquet. Additionally, all award merchandise
without the customized number of years of continuous
membership will be available for purchase at the banquet by
any registered NJ Masters swimmer. If you have any NJ
Masters swimming photos that you would like to share with
your fellow Masters swimmers as part of the banquet slide
show, please e-mail them to Bridgette Hobart
bhobart@ptcllc.com
by April 9th. We would love to add your photos to the
montage celebrating the NJ Masters swimming community
throughout the years! Thanks!
The registration form is available here. Early bird
registration is due by March 31, 2012. We hope that you all
can join us for an evening of celebration of our New Jersey

Madness meet, which will be held at Drew University on
Saturday, March 24, 2012. A
paper entry form is available here. Paper/mailed
entries must be received by 6 p.m. Saturday, March 17,

The NJ LMSC has maintained their strong position in the USMS
"Go the Distance" program in 2012 as the 6th highest swimmer
participation (1 more than 7th place Oregon) and the 7th
highest total posted miles out of 52 LMSCs! The Colonies
Zone continues its dominance by holding on to the #1 spot
among the 8 zones with 32,752 miles and 663 participants in
just the first 2 months of 2012. Anyone can sign up for
2012! To participate, simply submit your total yardage in
your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS).

to ALL of the participants who continue to make this program
such a huge success within our LMSC!! Every member counts!!

Fall Classic at the Nassau Aquatic Center on November 20,
2011 and at the New England SCM Championships at Boston

Masters Team Championships, which will be held at Ocean
County YMCA on Sunday, February 12, 2012. New this year is
online registration!
Online entry information is available; event
registration is open now and closes on Thursday, February 9,
2012 at 11:59 p.m. ET. A
paper entry form is also available. Paper/mailed
entries must be received by Friday, February 10, 2012. |
| January 4, 2012 - The NJ LMSC closed out 2011 with
another strong performance in the USMS "Go the Distance"
program. New Jersey finished the year with the 5th highest
swimmer participation (1 more than 6th place Illinois) and
the 7th highest total posted miles out of 52 LMSCs! New
Jersey was a mere 143 miles behind 6th place Oregon!) The
Colonies Zone continues its dominance by holding on to
the #1 spot among the 8 zones with 138,731 miles
and 692participants. New Jersey, with 122 registered
swimmers logged almost 25,000 miles and is very proud to
have 3 swimmers (Sandy Carosi, Dave Juchniewicz, Meaghan
Murphy and Bridget Hobart) in the top 101 (out of 2,815
total participants)! Anyone can sign up for 2012! To
participate, simply submit your total yardage in your
on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS).
