| October 26, 2012 - Announcing the annual OCY Unofficial Team
Masters Championships on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Ocean
County YMCA in Toms River, NJ. An orientation session for
new swimmers will be precede the meet. T-shirts are
available for sale. Warmup: 9:15 a.m. for 1000 free; 11:15
a.m. for all other events. Meet Starts: 10:00 a.m. for 1000
free; 12 noon for all other events. Mail-in Entry form
must be received by February 1, 2013; online entries close
February 7, 2013. Please

October 8, 2012 - The NJ LMSC has overtaken Potomac Valley
to move in to 7th place among 52 LMSCs in total mileage
logged in the USMS “Go the Distance” program. New Jersey
sits within striking distance of Illinois Masters and still
maintains the highest participation rate with 1 out of every
7.5 members logging their mileage in the program. Don’t
forget to log your miles and if you aren’t participating
yet, please sign up! Let's go NJ swimmers! To participate,
simply register and then submit your total yardage in your
on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS).

website. The Colonies Zone is holding on to the #1 spot
among the 8 zones with almost 130,000 miles and 781
participants.

| November 16, 2012 - NJ LMSC Annual Board Meeting and 2013 NJ LMSC Officer Elections All NJ LMSC Masters Swimming members are invited and encouraged to attend the upcoming NJ LMSC Annual Board meeting, which includes the 2013 Officer elections, scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd at 10:30am at Lifetime Fitness 25 Connell Drive, in Berkeley Heights, NJ. All meeting attendees are welcome to attend a coached Masters workout preceding the meeting from 8:30am - 10:00am at Lifetime Fitness. If you plan to attend, please fill out page (1) of the Guest Information Form and bring it along with you for admittance into the facility. Thanks! As we continue to grow our NJ LMSC volunteer group, please consider getting involved and sharing your passion for your sport. Nominations are currently being accepted for the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Sanctions & Safety Chair, Top Ten/Records Chair, and Newsletter Editor. November 14, 2012 - USMS 3000/6000 Yard Postal National Championship event to be extended. Message from the USMS Long Distance Committee: "Because of the devastating effects of the “Super Storm” known as Hurricane Sandy, the Long Distance Committee, with the support of the USMS Executive Committee, has extended from November 15 to November 25 the date by which all swims must be completed for the 3000/6000 USMS Postal National Championships. Entries will still be due by November 25, 2012. For those swimmers whose birthday occurs between November 16 and November 25, their age will be their age of record as of November 15, 2012. For everyone else, it will still be as of the day they swam, and results will be compiled accordingly. This extension shall apply to all swimmers regardless of their LMSC."
