July 17, 2013 - The NJ LMSC still boasts the highest participation rate of all of the “high yardage” LMSCs with almost 13% of the NJ membership (119 swimmers) recording Go The Distance results on line! In total, NJ has logged the 8th highest mileage of all 52 LMSCs and along with fellow LMSCs New England (4th) and Potomac Valley (5th), has helped the Colonies Zone remain as the highest ranking zone with over 800 swimmers recording almost 100,000 miles this year! New Jersey certainly has even more swimmers working out on a regular basis so, please don’t forget to register and log your miles! To participate, simply register and then submit your total yardage in your on-line FLOG (under MyUSMS). For more details about this fitness event, go to GO THE DISTANCE on the USMS website.

August 26, 2013 - The entry deadline for the New Jersey Senior Olympics has been extended until Thursday, September 5, 2013. For more information, go to http://www.njseniorolympics.com.

August 22, 2013 - Announcing the New Jersey Senior Olympics on Saturday and Sunday, September 7-8, 2013 at the Woodbridge Community Center. This is a NJ masters recognized meet. For more information, go to http://www.njseniorolympics.com.

August 19, 2013 - Congratulations to Christopher Gibson, 57, who set a new NJ LMSC LCM record in the men's 55-59 1500 meter free with a 19:42.91 at the 2013 North Carolina Long Course meet held at the Triangle Aquatic Center on August 3, 2013.

August 7, 2013 - Congratulations to Frank McElroy (65) and Laurie Ditommaso (51) on setting new LCM records at the 2013 Masters Summer Sizzler in Wilton, CT on July 21, 2013. Frank set new LCM records in the 100 free (1:08.86), 100 Back (1:26.80) and the 200 IM (2:54.22), while Laurie posted a new record in the 50 fly (30.65) and the 200 IM (3:00:81)

September 24, 2013 - Announcing the third annual Octoberfest meet at Drew University on Saturday, October 12, 2013. For the first time, online entry is available for this meet; click here. September 23, 2013 - Congratulations to Rosemarie Froeder, 83 and Jerry Katz, 75 for setting new NJ LMSC SCY records at the 2013 New Jersey Senior Games at the Woodbridge Community Center (SCY) from September 7 through 8, 2013. Rosemarie posted a new record in the women's 80-84 100 IM with a 3:18.09 and Jerry swam the 100 fly in 1:46.08 to set a new standard in the Men's 75-79 age group.

September 16, 2013 - Announcing the third annual Thanksgiving Classic meet, to be held at The College of New Jersey on November 16-17, 2013. Online entries, opening Monday, September 16, are available here. Mail-in entries are also available; see entry form by clicking here. September 10, 2013 - Congratulations to Jane Fisher, Rosemarie Froeder and Jerry Katz for their outstanding swims at the National Senior Games at Cleveland State University (OH) from July 23 through July 25, 2013. Jane (77) posted a 2nd, three 3rd and two 4th place swims. Rosemarie (83) finished with a 2nd, two 3rd, a 5th and two 6th place swims and her 50 fly (1:51.34) and 200 IM (7:14.11) were fast enough two set new NJ LMSC SCY records. Jerry (75) swam to four gold medals and two silvers and all six of his swims were new NJ LMSC SCY records. Jerry lowered the records for the 50 free (30.63), 100 free (1:08.99), 200 free (2:43.08), 50 breast (40.77), 100 breast (1:35.11) and the 50 fly (35.35).
